This commentary appeared in 1974 as volume 37 in the New Century Bible series as a joint publication of Oliphants (London) and Eerdmans Press (1981, Grand Rapids). The author is an internationally known New Testament scholar. He is the former Principal, Spurgeon's College, London, and has served seminaries in America and England. In as much as the entire series is based on the RSV, the reader should not expect to find in this commentary exact attention to the Greek text of Revelation; yet, its scope (a total of 352 pp.) and insightful engagement with the theology of Revelation makes it an important dialogue partner.
